About Us

The Tasman Council are proud to welcome you to A Natural Escape. This three week celebration in the Tasman Region will share our unique and rich natural environment and strong community spirit.

We will feature around 40 activities across the region, including nature-based experiences, science talks, agriculture and marine-themed events with contributions from the arts, local tourism operators, businesses and community groups.

If you haven't visited us before but it's been on your bucket list, now is the perfect time.

We respectfully acknowledge the original traditional custodians of this land, the Pydarerme people of the Paredarerme language group. We respectfully acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal Communities and Elders past, present and emerging.

Our Mission is to celebrate the region's natural beauty and community spirit through nature-based experiences, local creativity and  sustainable tourism.

We will connect people, support local businesses and showcase Tasman as a leading ecotourism destination.

Nature, Community, Art, Connection

From 6—26 October, A Natural Escape invites you to explore the heart of the Tasman region through a diverse program of 40+ activities designed to inspire, connect and celebrate our place and people.

Set against a backdrop of rugged coastlines, rich forests and welcoming townships, A Natural Escape will bring together visitors, community groups, artists and tourism operators to showcase  the Tasman's natural beauty  and creative spirit. With something for all ages, the program features guided nature walks, hands-on workshops, local food experiences, science talks and art inspired by land and sea.

More than just an event, A Natural Escape is about connection - to place, to people and to purpose. We aim to foster a deeper appreciation for sustainable living, strengthen community ties and encourage responsible tourism.

Whether you're a local or a visitor you'll discover opportunities to slow down, learn something new, support local businesses and be part of a growing movement to protect and promote what makes the Tasman Region truly special.
